HTC has been a little light on the flagship products this year, the HTC One has been the only real flagship, with the HTC One Mini and Desire fitting in the mid range and low-end market.
We may be about to see the next in the line of high-end products from the Taiwanese company, the HTC One Max is still unofficial and with the enormous amount of leaks in the past week, it looks like we are nearing the final push of leaks before the official announcement.
New reports say HTC has sent out two different press invites to events on October 14 and 16, in Hong Kong and Taiwan. It looks like HTC will announce the HTC One Max twice in two different countries or it may be a feature or product exclusive to Taiwan, HTC’s hometown.
There are rumors of a HTC event on October 17 and this may be announced as the European or US HTC One Max announcement. It would be a little weird to see three separate announcements for the same product, but these are diverse media cultures in each place.
The HTC One Max is set to come with a 5.9-inch 1080p display, taking the same design aesthetic as the HTC One. It will sport a little underwhelming Snapdragon S4 Pro chip alongside 2GB of RAM with 32GB of internal storage.
This could be a good move by HTC to close off the rather poor year they have had, even with the critical success of the HTC One. The HTC brand is slowly slipping from the Android OS, once a dominate holder, the Taiwanese company runs 20% of all Android devices, with Samsung taking the lion’s share.
